Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be away the week of May 31/09 to June 07/09. I will see you then.

Pansies Abound

This is my card for the Friday Follow the List challenge at the Stampin'B's blog. www.stampinbsdesignteam.blogspot.com

Why don't you go and have a look and play along. We love it when there are lots of participants. To play along you just have to make the card using the "follow the list" suggestions and then upload you card to scs and be sure to use the keyword "StampinB" that's all there is to it.

For the challenge this week we were suppose to use flowers. I chose this pretty image and sentiment by Penny Black. I love pansies as they look like cute little fairie faces. I stamped this image onto Whisper White with Palette Noir ink and watercolored with re-inkers.

The cardstock used were Summer Sun, Perfect Plum and Whiper White. For the 1st layer I used Perfect Plum and Whisper White which I embossed with the CB folder Textiles. For the main panel I used Nestabilities in the squares "plain and scalloped. The finish is very simple just a pretty sheer purple ribbon.

Let me know what you think and I hope you visit the Stampin'B's it's so much fun and no rules.

Bashful

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weedend. This is my card for the CC220 challenge at SCS.

The image is by Penny Black and I love her, she is so cute and shy looking. The colors for today's challenge are: Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron.

The image was done in watercolors and piecing. The dp's are from a stack that I got at Cosco. I stamped the image four times, the first onto WW and watercolored the skin, the boots, shadows in the dress and the flowers, the second onto a yellow dp for the hair and touched up in CC, the third and forth are different dp's for the dress.

I used a MS punch for the borders, the cut flowers are by K&C Company and finished with a satin ribbon that I threaded thru 2 punched holes. I also cut and popped-up the flowers at her feet.

I really like how this one turned out, I wasn't fussy about doing an orange toned card again. I really would love to see some Spring colors for the CC challenge.

Tell me what you think of my card? Hugs, Nicole

Baby card for Emily

This is my card for the FS120 at SCS, the FS today was Merci. What a wonderful gallery that she has, I had quite a time picking a card to case. Here is the card that I chose to case: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1174753?cat=500&ppuser=77686

For the image I used a digital by Doodle Palace. I made three copies, one to color cut and paste to the WW panel, second one was for the head and gate/bushes which I popped, third was just the bushes which I popped once more.

I used Copic markers for the coloring. The cs was Sage Shadow and Whisper White. I used Nesties/rectangles for the main image. The three bg layers were embossed with embossing folders. The first was Swiss Dots, the second was D'vine and the third was a border from Frills. I cutaway part of this border and I really like the look.

To finish I added assorted pearls to the gate posts, the embossed border and the dot in the !. The sentiment was by Rubbeneckers.

I hope you like this one? Thanks for stopping by and please come again, Nicole

Stampin'B's challenge #7

This is my card for today's challenge at the Stampin'B's Design Team blog.

Joanne's challenge to us was to use : a border punch, circles, leaves and 2 brads.

For the main image I used SU markers to load my stamp image and then spritzed it with water. I then stamped the image onto watercolor paper. I stickled the bluebells at the bottom of the image for some contrast. I mounted the image onto a piece of bordering Blue that I had added the punched edging to. For the circles I used a plain embossed circle and a scalloped one. I stamped a butterfly in Bordering Blue, added some stickles to the wings and used 2 glass brads for the body.

I wanted this to be a clean and simple card. The main layers are: WW, Bordering Blue and Sage Green "you really don't notice the color change". The sentiment is simple also "enjoy life" which I accented with some pretty light blue dew drops.

To play along in this challenge visit us at the Stampin'B's Design Team blog: www.stampinbsdesignteam.blogspot.com

We have lots of fun so come and see us.

Wild Roses/A hint of pink

Where ever you live I hope that your weather is as nice as ours is today. Warm and sunny...

This is my card for the SC229 challenge at SCS. For my card today I used an image and sentiment from Penny Black. I thought that this would also fit the CAS card for Monday's challenge. The challenge was to use black and white with a hint of color. VV is the other white right? LOL

I colored this image with Copic markers three times and cut the whole image out and then parts that I wanted from the other two. After coloring I added some MS glitter to some of the crook and crannies.....

The paper is by DCWV/LA CREME. I love this paper it is scrumptious...

Thanks for stopping by to have a look and I hope that you like my cards enough to keep coming back for more.

I'm still new at blogging so if you see me doing something wrong please let me know. There are still some things that I can't figure out but I will get there eventually.

Bye for now, Nicole

BE_SC228_Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone, this is my card for the SC228 challenge at SCS.

Thanks Maxie for such a fantastic sketch.

This card just came together so easily for me. As soon as I saw this sketch , I had to use this dp by Provo-La Creme mattstack, this papers is the richest and most elegant I've come accross. The whole stack is in black and cream colors. The matting is SU's Basic Black.

The stamp set that I used for the sentiment is by CLOUD9

Simple Thoughts-Happy Birthday

For embelishments I used a paper rose from the dollar store and some punched butterflies by MS/with tiny cream pearls.

I hope you like this one, I really love it. Let me know what you think? Thanks for visiting and commenting.

BE_CC218_Essence of Spring

I love the challenge colors that Emily picked for the CC218 challenge at SCS today.

The image on my card are Inkadinkado/Garden Flowers.

The cs is Only Orange, Summer Sun and Kiwi Kiss as are the inks.

The image on the bg was inked up with SU markers and then huffed on before stamping, while the image on the main panel (water color paper) was also applied with SU markers, the stamp was misted with water before stamping.

It amazing the difference the two similar techniques produce. On the bg panel I poked two holes with my piercing tool and threaded this pretty gingham ribbon and tied a bow. I also sponged the outside edges of the bg and main panel with Memories/Orange and Mango. In the center of the main image I softfly sponged some TH DI in Tattered Rose so that the white of the paper was not so in your face as they say. LOL

For the main image I chose to use a Nestabilities Label two die and since I did not want a much larger matte I cut the shape of the green matte by hand to the form of the die on the watercolor paper die cut shape.

I hope that you like my card today, it's the first time in a while that I've had fun making a card. I've been sick a lot lately and haven't had the energy to practice my favorite hobby and playing with my friends at SCS.

Bandana Card

I hope that all of the women out there had a wonderful Mother's day......
This is my card for today's SCS Monday's TLC 220 challenge.
Today's challenge was to make a card using the bandana technique.
This is to mark dots or stitch design around your stamped image therefore creating the look that was so popular when the cowboys wore bandanas.
For my card I chose some images by CLOUD 9/Simple Thoughts-Happy Birthday.
I used black and white cs, versamark, opaque white detail ep and a white gel pen.
I'm not very happy with this card and I don't think I will be using this technique much.
But it was something new and that is what today's challenge is all about.
image: CLOUD9/Simple Thoughts-Happy Birthday
ink: Versamark, Opaques detail white ep, Sakura white gel pen
paper: Basic Black, Whisper white
accessories: double sided tape, pop-ups
Thanks for visiting my blog and leave a comment if you like my card or even if you don't.

Spotlight Card.

First, I would like apologize for not doing much for you this week. I've under the weather but now I think I'm back in the game. LOL
This cute card was for Vicky's challenge "Spotlight Card" over at the Stampin'B's blog site found here www.stampinbsdesignteam.blogspot.com .
I had a lot of fun doing this card. I had never done one so I had to go and search around for the tutorial.
This is a 5.25" by 5.25" square card. The image I chose to use is by Inkadinkado/Doodle Flowers. First I stamped the image 2 times on some Whisper White cs, I used one of the images for the main panel, colored the other image and the used my CB and a small circle Nestie. I then cut a bigger scalloped circle in the Cameo Coral.
I cut and mounted the main image on some Nestie's plain and scalloped squares. The sentiment is a rub-on "which I love to use", the dp is by
Basic Grey/Perhaps. I finished my card by adding tiny pearls to the scallops and one in the center of the rose and finished with a pretty ribbon.
Image: Inkadinkado_Doodle Flowers, sentiment rub-on
Ink: Palette Noir, Copics to color
Paper: Whisper White, Cameo Coral, dp by Basic Grey_Perhaps
Accessories: Cuddle Bug, Nestabilities die cuts in the small circle "plain and scalloped", squares in the plain and scalloped, tiny pearls, rub-ons, ribbon, double sided tape, pop-ups
I hope that you enjoy this card.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Monochromatic card

This is my monochromatic card for the Stampin'B's challenge #4
You can find all of the information at their terrific site and please do play along.
www.stampinbs.blogspot.com
Brown is my favorite color so that why I chose it today.
The paper is by Premium Stacks/Once Upon a Time.
The image was made by using a brass stencil. I first hand embossed the violets image, then I used some chalk and sponged on different shade of brown to get some depth. I then finished the image by spraying it with Krylon clear gloss spray and crossed my fingers that I had not ruined a solid hour of work. LOL
The layout for this card is something I've seen on SCS. The tab at the bottom comes over the main part of the card as a closure. To keep from falling opon I used a very small magnet.

I hope you like this one?
